VISBIO Partners with Kasetsart University’s Department of Industrial Engineering to Strengthen the Health and Beauty Industry Value Chain

A New Partnership to Advance Thailand’s Health and Beauty Industry
VISBIO Co., Ltd. (VISBIO) and the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to systematically develop the “value chain” and “supply chain” of the health and beauty industry. The collaboration links industrial engineering expertise with research, knowledge transfer and support for entrepreneurs, helping businesses add value, improve operational efficiency and strengthen their competitiveness on a sustainable basis.
Formal Signing Reaffirms a Long-Term Commitment to Collaboration
The MOU was signed at Kasetsart University on 17 January 2023. Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornthep Anussornnitisarn, Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, signed on behalf of the university, and Mr. Wuttipong Panitsettakorn, Authorized Director, signed on behalf of VISBIO Co., Ltd. Together, they declared their intention to combine academic and private-sector expertise into a synergy that drives tangible progress for the industry.
The Core Goal: Adding Value by Connecting the Entire Supply Chain
The collaboration focuses on promoting, supporting and jointly conducting research to develop the value chain and connect the supply chain of the health and beauty industry. Its scope runs from processed herbal raw materials and active ingredients through to cosmetics, dietary supplements, herbal products, pharmaceutical products and related services. The guiding principle is to upgrade the “whole system” so that every link works together efficiently, rather than developing any single product in isolation.
The Department’s Role: An Academic Foundation for Principled Development
The Department of Industrial Engineering, Kasetsart University will play a key role in supporting education, research and development so that value chain and supply chain development delivers tangible results, covering process design, systems analysis, efficiency improvement and the development of mechanisms that connect networks. The department will also co-develop training courses for entrepreneurs, exchange knowledge and provide expert speakers for lectures, ensuring continuous knowledge transfer to the private sector and related networks.
The “Supply Chain Laboratory”: Infrastructure for Research and Academic Services
A central element of the collaboration is the provision of space to establish a “Supply Chain Laboratory” for academic services, research and knowledge transfer to entrepreneurs in the health and beauty industry. This approach makes development systematic and verifiable, allowing theoretical proposals to be taken forward into experimentation, evaluation and the design of real processes, so that businesses can improve their operational efficiency and competitiveness on an evidence-based footing.
A Clear and Transparent Framework for Collaboration
The MOU sets out a clear framework for working together, covering intellectual property, the protection of confidential information, coordination and the public communication of results, so that the collaboration remains transparent, fair and beneficial to all parties.
What This Collaboration Means for Businesses
When expertise in “industrial engineering” is combined with “business development and industrial consulting,” the benefits extend to upgrading the whole system from upstream to downstream, including sourcing, production, quality control, distribution and cost management, so that every stage connects efficiently. The collaboration therefore provides an important foundation that helps entrepreneurs access practical knowledge, make their work processes more systematic and prepare to compete in the fast-growing health and beauty industry.
In Summary: Building Infrastructure for Sustainable Growth
VISBIO and the Department of Industrial Engineering, Kasetsart University intend this collaboration to be more than a formal signing. It is about building infrastructure in knowledge, networks and support mechanisms for entrepreneurs, so that the value chain and supply chain of Thailand’s health and beauty industry become more efficient, more transparent and capable of long-term development.
